On June 15th,1991,Thenpe Nyima began construction of Gesar Palace on the archaeological ruins of the official residence of king Gesar of Ling. (The original Structure was built by the monarch over 1000 years ago.) Today, the newly arisen Place shelters many temples, including those specilally dedicated to king Gesar, Padmasambawa,and Shambhala. A museum containing unique, priceless Gesar and Tibetan relics is also located inside the palace. In this way, Tra Ling has also become one of the great preservers of ancient Tibetan history and culture.
